No partner necessary. Fred Astaire Coral Gables offers lessons for singles as well as couples. So, stop on by and let one of our well-trained professional instructors guide you.
Private instruction with one or more of our certified teachers gives you the specialized and personalized attention necessary to look and feel great on the dance floor, while developing the ability to lead or follow any partner. This is where you will gain the majority of your knowledge of dance technique and style. Whether you want to brush up on your dancing, learn a dance for your wedding, or train for competitive ballroom competition, your instructor will work with you to develop a program that meets your personal dance goals. The goal is to help you improve your dancing, while having fun. Our professional instructors teach lessons from 12-9pm Monday through Friday and Saturday by appointment. The best way to be introduced to our private lesson system of teaching is our introductory special.
Group lessons provide an efficient way of learning how to dance in a fun, up-beat environment. Group lessons are also a necessary part of instruction because this is where patterns, technique and style are learned. Equally important, group lessons provide you with the opportunity to meet other students with similar dancing goals.

Wear something comfortable that won’t inhibit movement. Jeans are discouraged for those reasons. Of course, we recommend comfortable shoes. While sneakers are comfortable, they aren’t good for moving on the wooden dance floor, so we suggest closed shoes with a leather sole for men and women and ladies’ shoes should have a heel. Miami tends to be wet. So if it’s raining, make sure that you bring a pair of shoes to change into on the dance floor.
At Practice Parties we turn down the lights and turn up the music to provide a festive atmosphere where you can practice what you’ve learned during your private and group lessons. At Practice Parties you get to meet and dance with other members of all levels from the ballroom community and you get to develop your leading and following skills in a practical environment with professionals available to trouble shoot. It’s the perfect way to put your moves to the test!
Practice Parties are also your chance to bring your friends and others who might be interested in learning more about ballroom dancing. Make sure that you ask your instructor about our Guest Program.
